A classic Mid Century Modern Room Divider designed by Duncan Gomme in the 1950s for his family's renowned furniture company, G-Plan. Taken from the 'Librenza' range, which was inspired by both Italian designs by the likes of Gio Ponti as well a Japanese lacquer techniques, this solidly built piece both iconic and multi-functional - it can be used as shelving against a wall, or free standing as a room divider (or both!). It is finished on the back, providing a stunning view from every angle.

The piece is made from Tola wood with ebonised shelves, legs and door panels. The bottom unit features a drinks cabinet and three shelves, whilst the top unit features contrasting sliding doors with further shelves suspended below on elegant brass supports.

There are the expected minor age-related marks and some very-blink-and-you-miss-them repairs - chiefly the brass hinge has been reattached to the drop down door. Overall the item has been wire wooled & oiled and is in excellent vintage condition.
