A matching pair of iconic Modernist armchairs from the Atomic-era of the late 1950s. Chairs are very comfortable and the frames boast striking aerodynamic lines from pretty much every angle. The frames have been re-ebonised in a beautiful matt black finish reflecting the era's Japanese influence of simple lacquered lines. Original hard wearing upholstery is in very good condition, with a cool yellow-centered geometric pattern repeated across the contrasting red, black & white fabrics (red is deeper and less 'wine'-like than it appears in photos and features ) - which also forms a stunning contrast with the matt black frames. Fabric has only minimal wear and fading as expected with 50 year old vintage furniture and has been professionally cleaned. Chairs also boast new webbing, are strong and very comfortable.
