• Image of Mid Century Modern African Sideboard by Frystark

A super rare Mid-Century Modern Sideboard manufactured in South Africa by Frystark. Boasting clean modernist lines, it really is a 'no expense spared' piece with multiple exotic woods used - the spectacular grain on the top is not the kind of thing we see very often. The front drawers & cabinets are in Teak, with Tola lining. The drinks cabinet features Maple shelves & drop down paneling and there is even a 'secret' formica-topped pull out shelf.

The sideboard is also finished on the back, allowing the piece to be displayed centrally as well as against a wall. The main body is completed with a grooved ridge around both ends and rests on the most stunningly elegant 'butterfly' legs, with both ridges and legs in dark African mahogany. There is a small repair to the veneer on one side towards the back, and a section of the back ridge has been replaced. This is not particularly noticable, especially if the piece is against a wall.

Overall this is a once in a lifetime piece, as such exotic examples of MCM pieces rarely surface in the UK.
