A very rare and iconic Mid Century Modern sideboard by the highly collectable Kandya. The company is regarded alongside the likes of Hille as one of the most important post-war British furniture manufacturers. Evoking the spirit of the Festival Of Britain, this sideboard is attributed to esteemed designer Carl Jacobs (with likely input from Frank Guille).
Compact and minimalist, this sideboard is an elegant example of functionalist design - boasting a solid frame and legs with two long drawers with discreet pulls and two sliding doors with long slim handles.
This sideboard is sometimes found in beech with glass sliding doors, but this is a rarer version all-wood version in Tola/Teak and beech.
Item has been fully restored and is in overall excellent vintage condition with very minor age related marks as expected.
