Rare pair of steam bent chairs dating from the early 20th Century. Manufactured and designed by the legendary Thonet, a company based in Vienna that specialised in steam-bent furniture. Boasting a strong, steam-bent solid wood construction, the chairs are made of walnut-stained frame with a burr walnut backrest (with lovely rich grain). Chairs boasts original Thonet paper logos and are engrained with a 'made in Czechoslovakia' makers mark. Very much in style of Halabala-era Brno modernism.

Chairs have been throughly cleaned, wire wooled and oiled. The seats are very comfortable, the vinyl seat covering is in good vintage condition.
